We’re teaching cameras to weigh cattle. Scanabull is building technology to weigh animals using 3D imagery, starting with an iPhone app. An early stage Agritech company with an exciting global future.
We are looking for a new recruit to join our field team on the road, visiting awesome farms, taking many thousands of cattle images of a range of cattle types and classes for training our models.
About the Role
Starting asap, minimum three months with plenty of potential for permanent ongoing work, full or part time, based in any region within reasonable drive of commercial beef farms.
$27/hr plus $0.80/km mileage.
You’re comfortable in a farming environment around cattle, and enjoy using technology. An ideal candidate would have a network of farmers or the ability to build this network. We need someone who is a self-starter and can organise their own day, make calls, and arrange visits.
The job is to find and coordinate visits with farmers who are weighing animals. You will drive to the farm and collect imagery data using an iPhone and a hardware product. In downtime, there will be other tasks available depending on the applicants experience, we are a fast moving startup where initiative and a can-do team approach gets results.
We are very lucky that farmers are hugely supportive of the tech and willing to have us along to help with the large dataset and product development. You will be our ambassador on the farm, so we will train you up on how the tech works, how we are building it, and where the future is heading, so you can confidently relay this to all the good sorts you will meet.
Your Skills & Experience
- Good phone manner and organisation skills
- Experience in farming and stockmanship
- Full New Zealand driver licence required
