Dan Bull

Dan Bull

Chief Executive Officer

Born and bred on a sheep and beef farm in Te Akau in the west Waikato, Dan raised fresian bulls for several years from week old calf to fully grown. Measuring growth monthly growth rates became time consuming and difficult, and Dan thought there must be a better way.

With a background spanning data science, computer vision, agtech and Al, Dan got to work creating and testing the first prototype. From there continued the building of Scanabull livestock weighing tech for real-world conditions - moving cattle, busy days, and imperfect environments.

Daniel worked for years as a full stack developer for an international facing company. Daniel has vast knowledge of imagery-based solutions and growing knowledge of the iPhone ecosystem.

With over 12 years building robust web platforms, Paul specialises in designing systems that turn complex data into practical insight. After years working with platforms such as WordPress and Xero, he now applies that same engineering discipline to agricultural technology. Driven by a genuine interest in farming systems, Paul is focused on building tools that help farmers make clearer, more confident decisions.

Ursula Haywood

Chief Commercial Officer

Ursula brings experience in innovation and commercialisation, with a track record of putting market-leading agricultural products into the hands of farmers around the world.
Before founding, scaling, and exiting a successful global ag business, she was a practising farm veterinarian and grew up weighing cattle every six weeks - giving her a practical understanding of animal systems, on-farm pressures, and the realities of designing tools for demanding environments.
She is motivated by products that genuinely earn their place on farm, and is easily pleased by a good (or bad) meat pun, ideally paired with a better red wine.

Simon O'Connor

Simon O'Connor

Simon O'Connor is an experienced director with deep governance and leadership experience across New Zealand's food and agribusiness sectors. He is a Board Director of Silver Fern Farms, bringing strong insight into red meat supply chains, processor-farmer dynamics, and global protein markets. At Scanabull, Simon supports strategic alignment across the beef value chain and industry credibility as the company scales.

Warren Bebb is a Partner at Sprout Agritech, New Zealand’s leading agrifood venture capital fund. He has extensive experience supporting early stage agtech companies through commercialisation and growth. At Scanabull, Warren brings expertise in governance, capital strategy, and building globally scalable agritech businesses.
